JWallpapers 1.1 RC1 is up and available for download. This new version introduces a set of useful features improving functionality and customization.

Some additional features, besides the ones advertised in my last message, were also implemented in this version. PHP CLI is no longer a requirement since a Sync (apache driven) resizing method has been added. Now resizes and thumbnails can be generated “ON THE FLY”, the first time they are requested from the frontend.

Here is a list of the new available features:

• Synchronous resizing method.
• Thumbnails width and height can be declared for both small and big thumbnails.
• Chose between 3 different thumbnail generation methods: disregard aspect, maintain aspect and crop (with either Imagick or GD).
• CB fields on pictures on which the uploading user is also the author of the image.
• Frontend category proposal can be turned off.
• Frontend category moderation On/Off.
• Component settings auto backup/restore.
