Layout design

• Simple but professional style guaranteed to look great on any template without changes of any kind.

• Fluid and fully adjustable frontend displays: You can change the number of thumbnails (rows and lines) to be displayed as well as define the size of each JWallpapers display zone.

Resizing capabilities

• Resizes for both thumbnails and pictures resizes is handled synchronously (generated on the fly when thumbnails or pictures are first requested in the frontend). Thumbnails and resizes are cached (stored in the filesystem) after they are generated to lighten the server load.
• Resizes can be defined independently for each image and for each category. Global resizes (affecting pictures and categories without a resize list) can be defined as well.
• Resize formats can be defined for each image size format (4:3, 16:10, 16:9, 5:4 or other).

Image uploads

• Bulk uploads (from zip files) as well as local uploads (directly from server) can be made in the backend.
• Frontend users can propose new categories when uploading their pictures.
• Frontend uploads moderation available for new categories and/or pictures.
• Frontend simultaneous uploads allowing users to upload up to five images at once (the number of file upload fields is configurable).

Social Networking Integration

• Facebook share and like buttons are fully implemented on JWallpapers. These buttons allow the visitor to share any picture of your JWallpapers gallery, increasing your site's popularity and bringing more targeted traffic.

ACLs

• Control who gets to access what by selecting the Joomla groups for which access will be denied to a given picture and / or category.
• Tasks like voting, downloading, uploading and tagging can also be controlled for each picture and for each category by selecting the Joomla groups for which the task is restricted.

Tag clouds

• Frontend and backend AJAX tagging interfaces featuring a slick AJAX tag search feature.
• Frontend tags and picture tagging proposals with or without moderation.
• Tagging privileges can be controlled in a per picture and category basis.

* JWallpapers is fully functional on Windows AMP. However, JWallpapers is and will only be officially supported on Unix/Linux webservers.

** These are the image processing libraries used to generate thumbnails and resizes. Only one of any of those two is necessary. GD is distributed with PHP.

*** Mootools 1.1 or 1.2JWallpapers is only complaiant with mootools 1.1 out of the box. Compatibility with mootools 1.2 is possible by performing some minor code changes. A detailed article in the Knowledge Base that explains the whole procedure. Using another JavaScript framework (JQuery, Prototype, etc.) along with JWallpapers might result on JavaScript conflicts. Even though workarounds exist (jQuery.noConflict() is an example) in order to make mootools coexists with other frameworks, it's up to the client to resolve JS conflicts generated by other scripts and/or frameworks. Support will be limited on this matter but we'll try our best on resolving any issue you might encounter.
